Houston,TX- The dynamic Houston’s 5th Sunday Choir released its long anticipated EP project on Sunday, November 30 at Forest Lawn Baptist Church.
They originally started as a musical fundraising effort for its choir director, Tramaine L. Hawkins and has since then expanded.
Hawkins is a local gospel artist and one of the original founders of the choir.
” We believe in bridging the gap between the older and newer generation;we want our music to reach all generations,” said Hawkins.
The choir is no stranger to the Houston gospel community. They have been singing in the Houston gospel industry for going on 5 years.
” This EP gives our listeners a glimpse into who we really are as a choir: we are just fun and true worshippers at heart,” said Hawkins.
Attendees to the concert, got a preview to the choir’s EP through a 4-song selection, which spiritually captivated the audience.
“Its just something about this choir that makes them unique than other choirs in the city. Their ability to sing a variety of music and still keep the “churchy” sound, is imppecable,” said Michael White.
White stated that he’s been a huge supporter of the choir ever since hearing them 2 years ago at a local concert.
“This is such a dynamic and annointed choir,” stated White.
Evelyn Walker who was an attendee to the concert, stated that she had heard of the choir before but had never been to one of their concerts.
” I loved it; The whole feeling of being surrounded by several generations singing for God, felt good,” said Walker.
” I will be coming to all of the concerts now.” stated Walker.
.
The concert also included a special musical performance by local gospel group Harmon West and Perfect Praise.
The choir has an upcoming EP release tour to some cities in Texas. They will also release their complete album in March 2015.
